Fabricated Stainless Steel Ornamental Wall Artwork

Augur Metal Products is well known for their laser cutting skills and equipment, all of which was brought into play when a customer asked them to manufacture a piece of ornamental wall artwork made to look like a sun. Home to a wide range of heavy duty metal fabrication capabilities like shearing, cutting, and punching, Augur Metal was able to showcase their skills when a more delicate touch was required. Augur Metal is comfortable working with both aluminum and alloys, this project called for stainless steel. Working from computerized artwork files, Augur used its flying optics CO2 (Gaseous) 2-axis laser to deliver 4,000 W of output power to the stainless steel, which was subsequently welded into its final form. The stainless steel plate metal was 1/8" thick, which was then doubled into a final thickness of ¼". Augur then polished the precisely cut, sun-shaped artwork to give it a final finish before it was hung for display in the customer's office lobby. Augur Metal's fabrication facility has an open floor plan, which easily allowed them to handle the 5' stainless steel sun, but they can manufacture artwork, parts, and components up to 21' in length, width, and height.
